SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!  The KVGA has been awarded a grant by the USDA to promote and expand the Farmers Market in Wofford Heights.  The money is allocated for advertising, supplies, and equipment to promote the Market and train more local residents to become Certified and sell their excess produce at the Market.  The majority of the grant money has been spend locally.

The purpose of this association is to
promote the agricultural heritage of the Kern River Valley by providing consumers with direct access to locally grown and affordable high quality produce and educating those consumers about healthy lifestyle choices with demonstrations, classes, written materials, and entertainment.

Membership in the Association is open to producers of California food products or other products that are authorized by the Board of Directors and that are produced within the following boundaries: the area of Kern County, California that is enclosed within a boundary defined as the lower mouth of the Kern River Canyon to the west, the top of Walker Pass to the east, Johnsondale on the north, and Piute Mountain Rd/Caliente Creek Rd in the south.

The activities of the Kern Valley Growers Association are governed by its core values of social justice, environmental stewardship, and economic sustainability. Currently, we are developing new venues in the Kern Valley area that will result in more consumers having better access to more producers. This will benefit both the consumer and the producer as well as the economic health of the area.

The Farmers Market operates underthe Rules and Regulations of the Kern County Board of Environmental health.  We ask that local growers be Certified by the County.  Our organic fruit and produce is Certified by the County.  All of our produce is picked the afternoon before the Market, and is literally hours off the farm - the freshest produce in the Kern River Valley.  Our vendors never purchase fruit and produce at a local grocery store and resell it.
